A family business since 1994

FERMAT is the vending machine brand of Fermag, a family-owned Romanian company with more than 15 years of experience in dairy and livestock equipment. Everything we build starts with one question: how can farmers sell more of what they produce, on their own terms?

Our story began in 1994, when Margit and István Sándor founded a family business to build a better future for their son. Along the way they tried many things: second-hand clothing, car sales, a small village shop, even a bakery with its own signature bread. None of them was quite the one.

Then, in 2008, István discovered milk vending machines, and by 2011 he was designing and building his own. This was the beginning of the Fermag brand, the farmers’ shop and the FERMAT vending machine family.

Working side by side with dairy farmers, István soon became immersed in milking technology, and Fermag grew from milk vending into milking systems and specialised barn equipment. When his son Előd joined the business (today he is the company’s CEO), the two of them delivered project after project for small and medium-sized farms, helping them stay competitive in a fast-changing market. In 2015 Fermag opened its online store, bringing its products and services to farmers across Romania.

Today Fermag offers more than 3,000 products for agricultural businesses throughout Central and Eastern Europe, from electric fencing, milking systems and livestock supplies to barn equipment and much more. We also supply electric fencing solutions to one of Romania’s largest DIY retail chains, and over the past decade we have equipped many small and medium-sized farms with milking systems, premium barn equipment and automatic milk vending machines.

Our journey forward

Nearly two decades of working with farmers, and countless conversations in barns, yards and markets, showed us one thing clearly: producers need simple, reliable ways to sell fresh, local food directly. That is how FERMAT was born, and it is still what the brand stands for:

Our mission

We build high-quality, innovative vending machines at a fair price, so that farmers can bring fresh, local products straight to their customers. A shorter supply chain means less transport, less packaging and products that keep their original taste and quality. FERMAT gives producers a complete, easy-to-run business: they sell directly, set their own prices and keep the margin that would otherwise go to intermediaries.
